Is It Just Me, Or Is It getting crazier out there?
The idea for this piece came to me as soon as I heard those simple but meaningful words. My intention gravitated around the idea of Arthur’s perception of the world was intrinsically related to his inner turbulence. I wanted to take the viewer on a narrative that showcased the different stages of Arthur’s psyche as well as his descent into madness through a path full of uncertainty, irony, and decay.
The juxtaposition of detailed lines and blurred details are a direct metaphor for Arthur’s blurred yet vivid memories while the color palette is reminiscent of the film’s gritty essence.
